Yakona
Yakona is a visual journey through the crystal clear waters of the San Marcos River. Using pure cinema techniques, (meaning rather than narration or dialogue, the film relies on the use of visual storytelling), the film tells the story of the river from the perspective of the river. Utilizing stunning underwater photography, abstract reenactment scenes, and immersive sound design, we follow the river from source to sea and through the changing seasons. The river's memory is interpreted by documenting its relationship with humanity across time.
