Coastal Prairie Color Palette | Artist

Coastal Prairie Color Palette is an homage to the beauty and diversity of Southwest Louisiana’s native ecosystem.

Arranged by the colors of the seasons, we witness the prairie’s changing flora and its pollinators. As the seasons change, we also glimpse the roles humans play in working to restore this endangered and beneficial ecosystem. Immersing viewers in the sights and sounds of the prairie, this piece asks us to imagine a thriving local culture and environment.

This footage was gathered by Jillian Godshall and Rush Jagoe in prairies across Acadiana in 2022-2024.

Coastal Prairie Color Palette has been exhibited in the "Prairie Stories: Art & Ecological Restoration on Louisiana's Prairies" group show at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
